You can take a walk on the boardwalk with that special someone to catch the beautiful sunset or simply take your child in the pram for a stroll. The entire family can enjoy the experience of the boardwalk in a buggy or on cycles that are made for 2 to 6 people.

There is a special cycle and skating tracks for those who do not want to walk the entire 3 miles. There are restaurants and cafes that offer good food and an even better view of the ocean. Concerts, live performances and live bands are ever popular on the boardwalk.

Kids will enjoy going to the old coast guard station where they can indulge in the interactive tower cam and shipwreck exhibits. For those who enjoy baseball, there are games by the Tidewater Tides, the most popular minor league team.

Kids can also enjoy watching super power jets like the F14 tomcats and FA18 Hornets taking off from the Oceana Naval Air Station.

Parents will enjoy the fact that police crack down on loud foul language and they have signs clearly posted. When I was a bit younger I thought this was crazy but now that I'm older and I have a family I see just how important it is to tone down on obnoxious foul language.

Exciting nightlife

The most exciting part about the nightlife at Virginia Beach is the Virginia beach amphitheatre which is a huge 20,000 seat open air place for a huge variety of performing artists, singers, bands and so much more. The most popular time to be here is from April to October.

The boardwalk is another popular place to catch a glimpse of the nightlife in true VB style. The American Music festival on Labor Day weekend is the most popular.
